Aloha to All!
Welcome to my blog. I’m new to this new blog, but I’m very excited to start sharing parts of my life. I am from Hawai’i, so you will see a lot of pictures of Hawai’i. Since this is my first post, I wanted to share a little background on me!
I was born on Maui but raised on the island of Lana’i. Have you heard of Lana’i before? Well its the tiny island between Oahu and Maui. It privately owned by a billionaire. I do take trips back to Lana’i and also to Maui. My parents still live on Lana’i and I have lots of Family members on Maui. I guess we’ll get into Family.
I have three older sisters and one younger brother. Since I’m married now, I also have a younger brother in-law. My parents are originally from the Philippines and I’ve been there just once! My parents speak Ilocano at home, and I understand Tagalog. I grew up in a traditional Filipino home and we’re Mormon too.
I served a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was a missionary at Salt Lake Temple Square. There were so many different languages and cultures and I enjoyed meeting so many new people. Its amazing to see how everyone from different countries can be together on Temple Square.
Since returning home from my mission, I met my handsome and loving Husband. We both met at Church, after he returned from his Mission in Berlin, Germany. So now, I’m learning German, which is a beautiful language. We hope to visit Germany next year. Even if i’m from Hawai’i, I do miss seeing the snow and the cold. The winter just has a special feeling during the year.
I do have a skin condition called eczema. Eczema is this dry skin condition which can leave skin with rashes, open sores, and constant itching. I do feel the need to share my experiences with eczema because there are so many people who are affected with this skin condition. I’ve had eczema since I was eight years old, and it comes and seldom goes away. I know at the end of the day, it won’t bring me down. Memories are missed when we are feeling down.
I find life to be full with opportunities and blessings. So I like to magnify those blessings that I get to see throughout the week. I will try and write a post once a week and keep you all updated. I will share some blessings and Aloha, so stay tuned. Life may not be perfect, but we are blessed with so much more.
Aloha, Paalam, and Bis später!
